My favorite quote of Pauline’s from the film is: “I never tried to build a career, I only tried to build a community.” As I have traveled the world with the film, the full implications of this approach have become wondrously clear. With the community that Pauline built over many decades, her career did not end with her passing. In fact, it continues to grow and expand in an almost miraculous way.

As one point of reference – we have had approximately sixty screenings of this film in about twenty different countries and half the states in the US. We have done this without a distributor! This is virtually unheard of and is only possible due to the passion of Pauline’s community to get this film shown within their local communities.

Additionally, I have so many people who continue to discover Pauline’s work, use her work to inspire their own, and deep listening practitioners continuing to expand the applications of the practice beyond what even Pauline imagined.

On this page, we will share stories about how Pauline’s amazing ideas continue to reverberate across the globe.

I arrived in Barreiro on the third after an exhausting tour of three screenings in four nights across the UK. Thrilled to be part of the amazing Sonika Ekrano film festival put on by OUT.RA, organizers of the incredible OUT.FEST among other events in and around Barreiro and Lisbon. I was excited to hear of a mysterious Pauline “listening session” that night at 11pm. I trudged my way up several flights of stairs to find a kindergarten that had been transformed by mattresses and pillows on the floor and four large speakers in the corners. Every spot in the room was full. I lay down and as the music began, I drifted into a dream state that immediately put my body and mind at ease and I reveled in the strong feeling of community in the room.

So many screenings have been paired with other Pauline-centric events: Deep Listening workshops, panels, seminars, and many performances of Pauline’s scores. These are some of the types of things we will document in these pages.
